Please read this before relying on anything inside the SoberBeing app or on soberbeing.com.
SoberBeing is not medical advice
SoberBeing is a personal self-tracking tool. It is designed to help you log days of sobriety, journal your thoughts, view your progress on a calendar, and care for a companion character that responds to your engagement.
SoberBeing is not:
- Medical advice
- Medical treatment, therapy, or counseling
- A diagnostic tool
- A substitute for professional care from a doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, addiction counselor, or licensed therapist
- An emergency service
- A medical device under EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR)
The content of the App and Website — including milestones, motivational quotes, journal prompts, and the buddy companion — is offered for general informational and supportive purposes only.
Always talk to a professional
If you have, or think you may have, a substance-use disorder, an alcohol-use disorder, or any related condition (including depression, anxiety, post-acute withdrawal syndrome, or co-occurring mental-health conditions), please speak with a qualified healthcare professional. The App is not a replacement for that conversation and never will be.
Do not start, stop, or change any medication, treatment plan, therapy, or recovery program based on something you read or experienced inside SoberBeing.
Withdrawal can be dangerous
Stopping alcohol, benzodiazepines, or certain other substances suddenly can be medically dangerous — including risk of seizures and death in severe cases. If you have been using heavily and want to stop, please consult a doctor first. The App's "Reset start date" and similar features are bookkeeping tools and do not constitute medical guidance on tapering or detoxification.

No guarantees
We make no promise — express or implied — that using SoberBeing will help you stay sober, reduce your use of any substance, improve your mental health, or produce any specific outcome. Sobriety and recovery are deeply personal journeys influenced by many factors outside the App's reach.
You use SoberBeing at your own discretion and at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
Within the limits of applicable law, Sven Plochberger and SoberBeing are not liable for any harm — physical, psychological, financial, or otherwise — arising from your use of the App or Website, or from your decision to use or not use the App in connection with any medical or recovery decision. See the Terms of Service for the full limitation-of-liability clauses, including mandatory exceptions under Austrian consumer-protection law.
